Celebrate Young Artists at 12th Annual YOR Fest
Free, family-friendly music festival at Youth on Record celebrates a rising generation of Denver artists
Youth on Record’s 12th Annual YOR Fest will take place on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. outside the organization’s Youth Media Studio at 1301 W. 10th Avenue, Denver, CO.
The free, family-friendly event is Colorado’s only youth-focused and youth-run music festival, featuring live performances and DJ sets from artists ages 26 and under, as well as community resources, family activities, food trucks, and local vendors.
This year’s theme is “YOR Fest: Where Young Artists Grow,” a nod to the free music programs, creative career development, and mental health and wellness resources available to young people at Youth on Record (YOR).
For the first time, this year’s YOR Fest will be hosted by Get Loud Presents, Youth on Record’s live events training program, preparing young creatives for careers across event production, venue operations, hospitality, artist relations, and the broader entertainment industry. Rising Creatives ages 18-26 will put live event training into real world practice at YOR Fest, handling audio engineering, stage and vendor set up, artist merch, video and photo capture and more.
YOR Fest-goers can expect:
- Live Youth Performances: Featuring artists from Youth on Record and the broader Denver community, including: Bianca Lipton; Broken Lens; Chicos Chidos; Double R; Hala Hooper; Izel; Mae Hunniford; Perseus; P.K.Sh3lby; Samona Bleu; SONEFFS; Sons of Daniel; Stephanie Orenday; TaTiana; The Peasantry; and Wulfsun.
- Vendors & Community Activations: Festival-goers can explore resources and participate in interactive activities, including: the Denver Museum of Nature and Science archeology dig; a Bicycle Safety Rodeo from Bicycle Colorado and Denver Housing Authority; the Denver Public Library; Denver Water; and more.
- VIP Experience: Attendees 24 years old or younger are YOR Fest VIPs. They will receive a VIP wristband at entry, which can be redeemed for a free festival t-shirt and swag bag, while supplies last.
Plus, food trucks, free snacks and drinks and arts & crafts activities.
