About
Founded in 2025, Front Range Focus is a community-fueled multimedia co-op, created to inform and inspire Colorado residents and visitors. As a digital-first publication with quarterly print distribution, we bring audiences hyperlocal news, entertainment, lifestyle and community content that reflects the heart of Colorado’s diverse Front Range.
Our mission is rooted in the belief that storytelling should empower, not exclude. We were founded in response to shifting perspectives and the growing need for innovative news sources that elevate underrepresented voices and shine a light on the stories that matter most. Operating as a co-op allows us to prioritize production over profit; we provide news content that’s fueled by our readers, members and supporters, with trust at the center of every story.
Just like Colorado’s Front Range – spanning mountains, plains and communities of every kind – our coverage is expansive, inclusive and dynamic. We celebrate local culture, highlight community changemakers and deliver fresh perspectives that help readers stay connected to the place they call home.
Whether you’re looking for in-depth features, cultural highlights or practical insights on daily living in Colorado, Front Range Focus is your trusted companion for news that informs, entertainment that inspires and stories that truly represent the spirit of the region.

History
Front Range Focus is published by Empower Media Exchange (EMX), a media and communications-centered nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the local news ecosystem through mission-based programs that train youth, support early-career journalists, provide media and communication-based workforce development and produce high-quality community content.
Launched in 2025, the publication was envisioned as a community platform designed to rebuild trust in local reporting. Supported by local writers, photographers and stakeholders, Front Range Focus is centered around collaboration and accountability, with innovation and equity at the core. By spotlighting underrepresented stories and elevating perspectives often left out of traditional media, the publication ensures Colorado’s communities see themselves reflected in the news they consume.
Our history is one of response and renewal. In an era when local journalism faces unprecedented challenges, Front Range Focus stands as a reminder of what media can be: credible, compassionate and community-centered. Just as the Front Range itself blends landscapes, cultures and generations, we bring together a diverse chorus of voices to tell Colorado’s story – one that honors the past, captures the present and looks ahead to a more informed and inclusive future.

Our promise to you is: authentic voices, real stories and journalism you can trust.
