Downtown Denver Welcomes Soccer Park
Visa, Bank of America and Street Soccer USA debut new community soccer park in downtown Denver
A new public soccer park opened Tuesday, Aug. 26, in the heart of downtown Denver, part of a national initiative by Visa, Street Soccer USA and Bank of America to expand access to safe and vibrant community spaces.
The Visa Street Soccer Park at Skyline Park, located at 16th and Arapahoe streets, features two Bank of America soccer fields with professional-grade turf, a financial education learning center and flexible space for community events. The project is one of six parks being created nationwide by the partners.

Tuesday’s celebration drew more than 150 children and families, who joined city leaders, community organizations and corporate partners for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event included an inaugural youth match with Street Soccer USA athletes, interactive clinics, food from local vendors and family-friendly activities.
“This activation is more than just a new amenity; it will help transform the central business district into a neighborhood hub that drives activity, supports small businesses, and benefits every downtown Denver visitor”, said Mayor Mike Johnston.
“With both short-term renovations and long-term investments-backed by past bond support and the Downtown Development Authority-we’re building a downtown that is vibrant, healthy, and alive”.
The initiative comes as the U.S. prepares for one of its biggest soccer moments in history, with the 2026 FIFA World Cup set to take place across North America. Organizers said the Denver park is designed to build momentum for the sport while offering lasting community benefits.
“This is more than a venue,” said a Street Soccer USA spokesperson. “It’s a platform for progress and community, where young people can build confidence, families can come together and local businesses can thrive.”
Partners in the project include the Colorado Rapids, Downtown Denver Partnership and Denver Parks and Recreation, which will help activate the space year-round.
The Visa Street Soccer Park will host regular programming, youth training sessions, and events meant to strengthen community ties through the game of soccer.
